Hormone detox

Q: I have weight gain, period problems, raging PMS and skin challenges. I was told my hormones are not being detoxified properly.

A: Everyone talks about colon cleanses to remove toxins and waste, but we hear little about the need to detoxify hormones so that they don't become too high and create hormone havoc. In both men and women, the hormones estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA and others have to be in balance. If one hormone becomes dominant over another then we develop hormone imbalances. Estrogen dominance is a very common situation whereby estrogen becomes dominant over the other hormones, resulting in endometriosis, heavy periods, uterine fibroids, no ovulation, ovarian cysts, breast lumps, PCOS, raging PMS and more. In men, estrogen dominance results in a beer belly and breasts. Additionally, women who take hormones in the form of the birth control pill and/or hormone replacement therapy can also become hormone overloaded if they are not monitored properly, increasing the risk of cancers and weight gain. Not only does the body produce estrogen, but we are also bombarded by estrogens in our environment that need to be detoxified from the body. ESTROsmart containing the plant nutrients indole-3-carbinol, DIM, D-glucarate, curcumin, sulforaphane, rosemary and green tea extract works beautifully to restore hormone balance. ESTROsmart detoxifies hormones when they are too high by ensuring the liver does its job properly. ESTROsmart stops the conversion of good estrogen to 16-hydroxyestrone, which is linked to estrogen-related cancers. Because estrogen is a powerful hormone that makes cells grow, the ingredients in ESTROsmart have been shown to stop abnormal cell growth. For women of childbearing age, ESTROsmart helps to normalize ovulation and therefore restore fertility. It does not contain milk thistle as research has shown daily use of milk thistle in women can cause elevated prolactin levels and breast swelling and tenderness. ESTROsmart is designed to be taken daily for the rest of your life to protect you from environmental estrogens and to ensure your own hormones stay balanced.
