Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) called Q10 for short and noted as “the spark of life,” plays an essential role in producing energy in the cells. Although CoQ10 is available from foods such as peanuts, organ meats, and fatty fish, it is difficult to obtain enough of it from diet alone. You would have to eat pounds of those foods every day, but CoQ10 can be taken as a supplement.

Statin Cholesterol-lowering drugs deplete the body of Q10. You must supplement with at least 200mg of Q10 if you are taking these medications.
