Q: Many of my friends are doing liver cleanses as part of their spring cleaning. Do you think I need to do a liver cleanse?

A: The liver is essential to detoxifying potentially dangerous chemicals produced both by the body and externally introduced. Its job takes place 24/7. More importantly the liver is the key organ for hormone metabolism. Your liver is involved in the manufacture of hormones from cholesterol, the conversion of thyroid hormones, and sex hormones like estrogen, testosterone, DHEA and progesterone among others. Your liver when not overburdened will ensure your healthy estrogen does not change into dangerous estrogen metabolites like 16-alpha hydroxyestrone, a potential breast cancer-promoting estrogen. So important to hormone balance is the liver that I feel we should be gently supporting it everyday and not just once a year at spring time. EstroSense ingredients support both Phase I and Phase II detoxification in the liver. What this means is that EstroSense gently supports the liver to ensure toxins are broken down and leave the body quickly without causing damage when exiting. EstroSense, containing I3C, sulforaphane, d-glucarate, curcumin, green tea extract, milk thistle and rosemary keeps hormones balanced.

Research studies have shown these ingredients stop cancer-causing 16-alpha-hydroxyestrone in its tracks thereby reducing abnormal cell growth. Indole-3-carbinol for example not only stops this cancer-causing agent but also reverses abnormal cervical cells, can be taken along with tamoxifen (a drug for breast cancer) and helps reduce our risk of hormone-related abnormal cell growth. Green tea extract, curcumin, rosemary and milk thistle provide tremendous support to the liver ensuring toxins are eliminated. D-glucarate is the liver’s friend as it wraps up toxins protecting vital tissues from damage. Women taking the Pill, HRT or any bioidentical hormone should take EstroSense to ensure these hormones do not convert to nasty by-products via the liver. EstroSense not only keeps your hormones balanced but reduces your risk of some serious degenerative conditions.
